The Snuggery

Great atmosphere, nice staff and very yummy food. They had good vegetarian/vegan, dairy free and gluten options to suit dietary needs. Service was quick and staff were super nice. One of the best cafes we’re been to in a while.

Lovely cafe with delightful atmosphere. Absolutely enjoyed our breakfast during the bad weather, staff were friendly and the coffee was surprisingly excellent!!!

Mocha & Rhubarb coconut cake were very tasty! My favorite coffee in Oban. There was a longer wait than expected for coffees when it wasn't seemingly very busy but staff preferred to chat to locals. Comfy interior and awesome little cabinet library outside.

Just returned from 3 days on the Rakiura Track & had heard good things from other "tracker goers" about the coffee that the Snuggery slings. Was looking forward to warming-up on a rarher grey day. The Snuggery is based in a very cute & cosy estab, clearly popular with both visitors & local Rakirua-ians alike. Drinking a long black there isn't much that can be hidden (by milk) if the coffee isn't great. But nothing to worry about here as the coffee was strong but also creamy...just want the weary/caffiene depleted body & mind needed. I also had a piece of the Rakiura Trail slice (think that is what it was called) & that sugar hit was also welcome.

We had done research before arriving on the best cafe to go to on the island and were not disappointed upon arrival. We visited before and after our 3 day Rakiura Walk. The food was sensational on both days. A great review from master 7 on the cheese scone. The caramel slice was heavenly. The coffee was one of the best we’ve had around the country. And the staff were super friendly; very helpful and made us feel so welcome. We have a connection to the name Snuggery and the team were so happy to tell us the meaning and how they came to name the cafe. We are telling everyone about this place!! Highly recommend this gorgeous little slice of heaven.

We love this cafe! Such good coffee & food - really hits the spot. Lots of options to suit everyone. The cafe itself is a total retro delight with lots of nods to the island’s history too! Good seating options outside too when the weather permits and the sun streams in inside too which makes it so cosy! Lovely service too - We can’t wait to come back

The loveliest, coziest, yummiest cafe I’ve ever encountered (which, after 50+ countries visited and counting, is really saying something ). I’d come back to Rakiura for their cacao elixir alone. I tried three different food items — brekky bun, mousetrap, and halloumi/beetroot sandwich — and everything was delicious (possibly a bit heavy on the mushrooms in the halloumi sandwich lol but that’s really just personal pref). Staff/service was outstanding, vibes were immaculate, and I can’t wait to return ALSO, even though I’m not personally veggie or GF, I loved that there were options for both on the menu as it means I can bring loved ones here who do have those dietary restrictions.
